if your keeping your turtles in a pond all year round and allowing them to hibernate then you should be doing checks around now to keep them healthy all year round, going to sleep in the same place for months will attract many harmful parasites and leeches and if left can not only spread but cause fatal issues with your turtles & terrapins even if they look healthy so please start looking now, if in doubt then please ask me and supply a picture close up and we will try help all of your loved ones, catching them might be hard but the life you can offer them now might just offer them a life for a long time... drain your pond if you have to but check the all the fleshy parts for holes / spots / leeches or anything that is not right right or should not be there... you will know... i can only help you but please don't leave to chance as we seem to get many e-mails that their loved ones have died suddenly and most of them could have been helped now... we are here so all e-mails are treated in confidence so all you have to lose is................... oh nothing.... regards wayne... I hope nothing is being hibernated in that pond, with it's thin uninsulated walls, and steep sides...? Don't be too hard on those little bugs in your pond, they are a natural part of the ecosystem, do an important role in breaking down the sediment, and even the leeches aren't bad because the leeches in UK ponds are almost entirely fish leeches which won't be able to do anything to a hibernating turtle!
