well we have nearly 100 members in such a short time which is fantasic, anyone who has met or knows us will know that we speak what we see and with 100 members can i ask why we all are not using the "FREE" shopping browser.... its no lie that we do what we do because of all the people like dan our web geniues and gerry our seo and everyone that help us by supporting us in buying or products... but has anyone thought just what we could do if all our members used this link when shopping on line... everyone that uses it is covered by" PAY-PAL" so there is no risk... we here at turtle rescue if i'm honest any rescue costs costs us around £150.00 to start a rescue, so when people come here looking all the sweet baby turtles... there is always a price. me and my boy's live in a one bedroom bungalow with tanks eveywhere and turtles that need our help, many of you will know that after 21 yrs we are not about money and welcome anyone here to our humble home at anytime... the truth is without help we couldn't do what we do when we do it... so to use the shopping link and offer some help if you can at "NO" cost to you will see us help more than 403 turtles that needed our help last year... what you waiting for please sign up and use it..... regards wayne... You certainly have a lot to say neil, why are you trying to belittle wayne in this way? all of your comments seem to be sarcastic. If this was my site, i would probably delete the likes of you!

no Neil, i founded turtle rescue 21yrs ago to help as many as we can from all sorts of places, rivers / streams / fisheries etc.. last year alone we rescued, saved, took in and re-homed 403, thats 403 that people saw fit to simply dump...and the only trappers in the u.k at the moment, as you will know this is a very large problem across our country and even world wide, the price was divided by the number of call outs from as far a Field as Birmingham, the rescue we did at clissold park cost us nearly £650.00 over the month we was there but even that was a small price to pay to rescue 57 of all different types that would have had a very shorter life, we offer good basic regular care with a vet on hand here and don't promise to know it all far from it, I'm still learning after 21yrs... we try to combine with other people & organizations that want to help turtles & terrapins every where to ensure a good level of basic care is met to help these wonderful animals... also just found your little remarks on another site telling people that we are selling our foods to to fund my little hobby... ( without even trying them yourself )could you tell all of us why you would say this without even knowing us, further more just how is your turtle website going... it seems to me that some who does hold knowledge of these animals which could benefit everyone seems hell bent on destroying others by putting them down... why..why cant everyone work together, its all about turtles & terrapins and their owners that need the help..
hope this answers your question...

well said wayne. bet he's the sort that gets info from other sites, puts their mark on it so other people can't use it, just to make theirs look good.

I've not been intending to belittle or "wreak havoc" at all, perhaps my comments have been taken the wrong way by a group of people obviously fiercely loyal to you wayne. As I've said, I understand the work and commitment it takes, as well as the costs involved. I was merely wondering if the £150 reflected, say, the cost per turtle of the inital setup(s), or the initial vet bills, collection of the animals, whatever. I don't keep a close track of individual costs too accurately myself, so I always find it interesting to get a reflection of things.
I don't recall making the statement that you "sell your foods to fund your little hobby", so I would be interested to know where you saw that. As for my website and forum, that is going really well thank you, and I am very happy and proud to have a great collection of members including some of the most experienced keepers in the UK.
Tramp, you seem to like slating my posts, do you have a great deal of experience with turtles? I may come off blunt on occasion, but I've never seen the point of sugarcoating the truth, or hiding from questions which I feel are useful to be asked.

Thought I'd been mis-quoted, was just checking. Thanks.
As you can CLEARLY see from my post, I said that magic word COULD, as obviously I don't know Wayne or the details of the rescue, however I know plenty of so-called "rescues" who do exactly that! They take in any species, then only offer the common ones for rehoming with a "standard rehoming fee". Such places have made me cynical, but like I said, I said COULD rather than saying anything definite, however you are seeming to enjoy slating me so carry on because I'd hate to spoil your fun.
Tramp, how long have you kept them for? I know of a RES kept in an underbed storage box for water, left to walk around the house for the most of the day, fed a diet of mostly cat food, and still lived to 37! So, you can do things pretty damn wrong, for a long time, before problems show!

mis-quoted on what? all i said was your comments sounded sarcastic. I've had them long enough to know how to look after them. They're in separate tanks, big enough, they feed well on all kinds of food, right temperature, they go outside in a small pool on nice days, they have a small area to walk round for excercise. anything i COULD be doing wrong?
