ya know its hard to for us here thinking that all the turtles that come here will receive a better life but we try...... we offer regular vet care and quarantine tanks and a full life what ever the issue... we go from calls from owners losing one of there loved ones to offers of re-homing so it's even harder for us to lose one that that has been re-homed.... we here do all the home checks to ensure the new homes have everything from proper care to fantastic new homes and a registered reptile vet that can deal with these animals that we check on.... and although we helped a turtle with very serious health issue's to health and re-homed to a very loving home only to find that she would contract a parasite infection that could have happened to the cleanest of tanks and claimed her life and losing her even with James our vet spending a very large amount of time with her does come hard... it's as if a second chance come and went for her but we believe she should not have been there in the first place.... i would like not only to say a massive thank you to James for all his tireless work but for all the help he has offered mostly for free or as i would get a phone call asking if he had left the medicine on our top shelf in the bathroom that we need to solve the issue... well you get the idea.... this man has offered help with little or no respect to the turtle world, just getting on and doing it... no questions except "WHAT'S THIS ONES HISTORY" from being dumped to stuck in a pond full of glue crystals... two things came to mind today when i spoke to James. 1. I'm not shore where we would be without him right now and although he is leaving soon to further his education in exotics in a far away land and 2. the life we held dear in our hands that seemed to be brighter and although was meant to be was not enough.... we not only lose one every now and then but it is hard despite all our efforts... JAMES WE WISH YOU WELL WHEN YOU LEAVE AND CAN'T SAY THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE FOR US AND ALL THE TURTLES & TERRAPINS HERE AND SORRY TO BETH AS MY BOY'S NAMED HER FOR Letting HER DOWN... we know it's one in many hundreds but it still hurts...
we keep on trying here, yet still our gutted to lose one or two... saying good farewell is hard...
