hi, ive got a 1year old male map turtle, would it be ok to put in another male turtle or is it best to put in a female. thanks

hi, as your map is only 1 years of age then either will do the secret is to introduce another the same size as you have now, this way they should grow up together and not pose a problem when adult, also if you get another the same size they will both get equal shares when it comes to feeding time, should one be bigger than the other you will find the smaller one won't get its fare share of foods unless you feed them separately. you can also mix these turtles with the following species if again the same size, map turtles / black knobs / razor backs / red eared / yellow belied / yellow eared / red belly's and highlogriffics.
