Hi, so I've currently got one cylinder ehiem 2215 which has done a reasonable job but after speaking to wayne I've ordered a 2nd eheim which I was going to replace the current one with. However I was wondering about hooking them both up at either end of my tank....will this do twice as good a job? I cant see any problem with it....but just wanted to check.

Yes two filters are better than one, as long as this does not cause excessive turbulence in the tank and upset the turtles. I often use two filters in my tropical fish tanks, running the old filter alongside the new more powerful one for at least a month and sometimes permanently. The reason for this is to allow good bacteria in the old filter (which process waste in the tank) to spread and colonise the new filter, a process which can be speeded up considerably by putting some of the old filter media into the new filter to "seed" it with nitrifying bacteria.
If you decide to use only the new filter, you need to put as much as possible of the media from the old filter into the new one so as to retain as many of the bacteria as possible. Otherwise it could take up to a month for a bacteria colony to establish in a new filter. In the meantime of course, waste substances such as ammonia which are normally processed by bacteria won't be removed and will accumulate in the water.
