I have 4 turtles in total, 2 yellow bellied sliders, a red eared slider and a map turtle. I have been told that all are fully grown, 1 of the yellow bellied sliders is 26cm long, the other is about 20cm, they are called ARNIE (female)and ROCKY (male), My red eared slider is 22cm long, and called RONNIE (female) , and the baby of the bunch regards to size is the map turtle whose about 12cm long, and called REGGIE (male), They are kept in a Tank that is 120cm long 50cm wide and 70cm deep. They all have their own individual personalities and characters. I wish I'd have switched years ago from keeping fish has the turtles are alot more entertaining than the fish ever were. Was i told right about them being fully grown or can i expect to be buying a bigger tank sometime soon? Speak soon, bye for now. Merry Christmas to all.

hi Sarah, firstly i would just like to welcome to our little family here at turtle rescue... we try hard to help everyone here and with our family network can offer you real advice should you need it from our experience's only and other real talking members like yourself that help each other in times of need or just for a chat... any way at 26 cm the yellow bellied sliders you have still have a little but not much more growing to do depending on there sex, the red eared at 22 cm should have a bit of growing to do as we find the average is between 20 & 30 cm in this country although this too depends on sex while Reggie will have quite a bit more growing to do as here we have had them at 30 cm as for the tank it seems good for now but i would have mine in a bigger one when they grow... have you tried " FREE CYCLE " if you would like details then please contact me...
regards Wayne global moderator and turtle rescue.

hi sarah... the site is called freecyle as you know but you will need to join your local one for free so if you live Liverpool you would join FREECYCLE LIVERPOOL the whole site is free and is about people who want to recycle things from cups to cars all for free, once registered you will get e-mails from other freecyclers offering alsorts, three good things about this site is you can either as we do look out for tanks etc.. place an ad on there for free... and i can help you with that if needed or you can try to find anything that you can get and sell to get the funds you need to buy a bigger tank... once you find a tank or something you simply want reply saying can i have this please, collect and say thank you... its all free... or place an ad for a tank once a month for free...
regards wayne...
