Hi, I was cleaning my turtle tank and turtle today and noticed he was somewhat more nippy than usual. I cleaned his shell with a toothbrush (soft bristle) and placed him into his smaller tank. As this tank is not big enough for a dock I always place him into a dry bucket for 5 mins before I put him back into the tank. I noticed that his shell had become very grainy and dry in the short space of time. I have seen some pictures online and a lot of wild turtles have the same sort of thing but it concerned me that in such a short space of time his shell would go so dry and grainy. He is back in his tank now and his shell looks normal again. Is the shell something all turtles have or should I get this looked at. If needed I can get some photos too. Thanks for the help
