Hi Again
Can I just say, Ive just spent the last two hours (time certainly flies when your having fun) reading all the help, advice and also the very funny but also help from Myrtles escapades ;D
Loving the site already...and Oh!!,how rude of me, I forgot to introduced my two yellow sliders......!!!! wait for it, (because upon reading info I understand that they can carry salmonella).....well Yes!!! My sliders are called 'Sam & Ella'...sorry guys!!!! it was just meant to be. I'm yet to upload some pics to Wayne to actually sex them yet but hey ho!! might be a name change coming but they will still be loved regardless.

Sliders are very easy to sex. Adult males have very long claws on their front paws which they flutter at females as part of their courtship ritual.
The other difference as with all tortoises,. turtles and terrapins is their tails. Males have much thicker and longer tails while females have small tails. This is one of the best ways to sex shelled reptiles.

hi turtlegirl Wayne has explained this to me already but to be honest apart from one being slightly larger than the other and colour difference which I know is normal, they look exactly the same. As for the fluttering...they both do that....but thanks anyway
