Me again, after setting up my new tank, I've put a large basking rock, one that suction cups to the back, and the only problem is 1 out of my 3 turtles cant get on it. I've attempted to move the rock down the tank Incase she couldn't get to the low point, put a large rock and built up the sand where she does try to climb and even attempted to direct her onto the rock by hand and she cannot grasp it?! Will she get it over time or has anyone easier or better ways to do it please??
Thanks in advance, Ben.

I will do it tomorrow, do you want a picture of her trying as that could be hard, or just the set up?

hi ben, do you ever get your turtles out on to land so they can wonder around or even in the garden...?
regards wayne.

I don't have a garden unfortunately, Im in a first floor flat, I am looking to move but that wont be for months I'm guessing... I'm hoping this isnt going to be a real bad thing? The closest to land I guess they could get is on my kitchen floor.

we tend to see this from time to time here, when turtles and terrapins are in the water they have no or very little weight which can make them a little lazy ( couch potato ) type thing, there eating well but still not working it off... if you let them roam around on dry land for around an hour every couple of days they simply have to lift themselves up to move hence making them work and building mussels up this in turn will help even the lazy-est turtle and terrapin when it comes to dragging themselves out of the water to bask. we see results after around a fortnight and a healthy turtle / terrapin is a happy one... hope this helps you.. regards Wayne.
