Hi all i am Mitch, i have been an inactive member for a while and thought its about time i said hello! I have a pair of red eared sliders which i've had i think for around 7 years maybe longer. Both of them were in a bad state when i took them in as they'd been kept in the wrong conditions. The females shell was rotten as she was housed in a 2' square tank and only ever feed prawns. The male was kept in a hutch with a bowl of water (more of a tortoise set up) and seemed to have something wrong with his undershell, it was like he had some sort of parasite that was eating into the shell. And he hasn't any front nails, which i can only assume at some point a female has bitten them off. Needless to say they are both ok now, please feel free to take a look:- youtu.be/6Z-4qM30ftw

Yes they have an area to bask, there is a bottomless tank on top of the tank you see. Because of where the tank is sited i had to cover the top tank to take the video due to lighting and the reflections you get if its not covered. I will try and upload a pic later. Please take a look at this feeding video :- www.youtube.com/watch?v=du5M6h3yBrE&feature=plcp This was my old 8'x30"x30" Tank that we left when we moved.
