Hi i am new to this thread but hoping to rehome my False Map Turtle. Ive had him for approx 8-9 years and took him in as his previous owner had gotten board with him and he was either going to stamp on him or throw him into the canal. As an animal lover i couldnt let that happen. I did a lot or research on terripins and found out how to care for him correctly etc, and he has been happy and looked after ever since. However he has grown considerably since then and although i got him a bigger tank he is now really too big for that one. He ideally needs a decent 5-6 ft tank and i just dont have the space for a tank that size. I care a lot about him as he has a funny little personality and isnt nasty or anything, so i really dont want him to go to just anyone and risk him not being cared for properly. I am in rochdale, greater manchester.

Well done fo rsaving that turtle's life and taking care of it.
Male maps ar quite small. Sounds like yours is actually a female as girl maps grow big.I really have no room for any more turtles and live too far away. I suggest posting on Facebook UK Turtle Group and see if someone nearby can adopt her. Lots of experienced turtle keepers in that group. Or contact Jacqui in Sunderland who runs one of our Rescue Centres. Could you take your turtle to her?
