Hi Folks, wondering if anyone can advise what wood i can use in my tank. My turtles are 2 Maps 2 musk & 2 razorback musks & are in a small ish tank at the moment . Just about to move them into an upgraded tank with a 2 ft depth. the musks are pretty good at swimming now but i want to give them a large center piece of wood to climb/hang onto, so i want it to break the surface of the water. My problem is finding suitable bog wood of a decent size in aquariums. i have the roots of some trees in my garden some without bark etc which are suitable in size but am not sure how careful you have to be with wood poisoning the water? Anyone got any advice of can advise types of wood that are suitable?

What sort of trees? Tres with sap or resin are no good and wil pollute the water. mopani woor from gaRDEN CENTRES IS BEST (CHEAPER THAN WOD FROM PET SHOPS). oR BUY THE LARGST SIZE OF zOOMED FLOATING HOLLOW LOG. MY TURTLES LOVE IT (IDEAL FOR MUSKS, SMALL TURTLES LIKE MALE MAP). THEY US EIT AS BASKING SURFACE, RESTING AN DSLEEPING PLACE INSIDE OR PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK IN THE SIDE HOLES
