I've come across some razorbacks in need of a home, being sold cheap as owner wants to get rid of them ASAP. Before adopting them I need to make sure I can offer them the right care they need and internet searches aren't always reliable 1. How big do razorbacks grow? 2. What do they eat -will they be OK with a diet of turtle pellets, shrimp and dried fish? 3.Are they aggressive, especially will they attack other turtles or bite humans? 4. Can they be kept with maps and sliders in same tank? 5. Do they really stink all the time or only rarely? Any advice welcome as I have to decide whether to go ahead and get them tomorrow

evening turtlegirl... o.k first the size, these will grow to around 6 to 7 inchs... are these aggressive... no but if they haven't been handled like all turtles they can be timid and claw you... foods... these are carnivores more than veg eaters but a good diet is essential as with all turtles but fare better on snails / meal-worms / shrimp / fish / lean ham / cooked chicken / mollusks / insects etc... water temps are around the 26c mark.. can they be kept with others... well here some say yes some say no, the trick is to treat them as one of the family and ensure they get their fare share of foods at feeding time we find it easier to separate them at feeding times and you shouldn't have any problems but with all mixing you will have to keep your eye on them.. do they stink... well yes but not all the time, sometimes called stinkpot turtles they will let off a musky smell when frightened but this is no worse than some people i know passing wind so they won't stink your house out... well worth getting as these will stay small and if they get on with the others will give any tank set up a good look...
regards... little ol me.... wayne..

Thnks Wayne. That's great..so you obviously think I should get them. One last question How do you tell the sexes apart -do male razorbcks have long claws like sliders? Also are they both the same size or do females get much bigger?
